The Newmark Swerve is a swerve drive system I designed for the Newmarket First Robotics team: Newbotics 8349. A swerve drive is a wheel system where one motor powers the rotation of the wheel and another motor rotates the direction of the wheel. The system was designed to use a little gears as possible to minimize maintenance and need for lubrication. By using belts the system has a ridgid power transfer system without the need for lubrication. The system was designed to be CNC machined out of aluminium and feature tapped holes for modular mounting. This design is a innovative approach to a swerve drive assembly that increases the agility of a robot.
